Delivering Strategic Vendor Alignment for a Web3 Business

MountNex

A leading web3 business was facing challenges in identifying the right vendors to deliver a critical capability. The company lacked a clear understanding of the key players in the market, leading to delays in vendor selection and risks to their go-live timelines.

MountNex was engaged to support the organisation during the Identify, Govern and Negotiate phases.

Identify

MountNex leveraged its deep understanding and industry knowledge to assess the market landscape. Through targeted analysis, they pinpointed five key vendors that could provide the required capability for the web3 business. The challenge was in aligning the company’s specific needs with the most suitable partners and the required timescale.

Govern

To expedite the process, MountNex streamlined the vendor selection, narrowing the initial pool of five vendors down to two. Focusing on those vendors best suited to meet their needs, with proven experience in the space and the ability to meet the project’s unique demands.

Negotiate

Rather than proceeding with a lengthy and formal RFP process, MountNex negotiated directly with the two final vendors. By bypassing the traditional RFP, MountNex reduced decision-making time by 50%, allowing the business to maintain its broader go-live timeline without the need for multiple bids and extended reviews.

Outcome

MountNex’s strategic involvement enabled the web3 company to stay on track with its business timelines, meeting its go-live objectives. By avoiding a formal RFP, the company saved valuable time, achieving the necessary vendor alignment without compromising quality and capability. MountNex’s involvement led to the development of a multi-year commercial model that ensures long-term support for their business, both for current needs and future growth.
